I learnt this very interesting thing about our perception of time. If we are learning something new or are having an experience for the first time, our perception of time slows down. This explains why when you’re a kid, the summer seems to last forever.

When you’re older you say ‘bloody hell September already!’

If you have ever fallen over or been in a car crash, time slows down. Also, when you go on holiday, you feel like you have been in the new place forever, and just past the midway point as you start to think about your life at home, the holiday was over in a flash.

Learning new stuff, travelling and having new experiences, gives you a longer life. Just remember that when the outside of your comfort zone is calling you. At least you will have the perception of having had a long and full life.
