The energy created when two or more people come together with a similar intention is
transformational.
It’s dynamic and exciting to work together, of course it maybe challenging, but what growth isn’t?
The groups I have set up are intended to be a catalyst for positive transformation. To give a sense of community and a feeling of belonging to something positive outside of the normal life connections of work and family.
These groups can be used simply for a transition period or as a stable source of supportive connection. Not forgetting fun, friendship and great conversation.
Meet-up groups
Meetup.com is an on line site which aims to bring people together face to face.
At a meeting attended in San Francisco I met one of the managing directors of meet-up and learnt that the intention of meetup.com is to bring people together in community. I also share this idea.
“Meetup.com’s mission is to revitalize local community and help people around the world self-organize. Meet-up believes that people can change their personal world, or the whole world, by organizing themselves into groups that are powerful enough to make a difference”.
After running a very successful meet up group in San Francisco and being assistant organizer for another group I will be starting up a number of different groups in the UK.
The idea is to bring people together rather than making profit. Some of these meet-up’s will be free and some will have a charge.
Meetup.com does charge its organizers to have a meet up groups. However it means reaching out to their 7.2 million members over 45,000 cites all over the world. Room hire costs may also be incurred by the meet up host. We also may hire great speakers and guests. So not all meet-ups can be free of charge. This is a non profit venture, so some money maybe refunded to you at the time of the event once the costs are met.
These meet-up events will not always be an educational class, but a way to join together with common interest.
