“Calling all creative forces out there!”
I believe self development becomes sustainable with community, and as I started pre-production for an ambitious film project that will help shift consciousness and on the whole, make the world a better place J I realized with my teammate, US media maker, Marlo McKenzie, that we needed to take a different approach to make this special film.
We have been put off by too many films and books that hold the perspective that they are telling the audience something they don’t already know. So we decided to make a collaborative film project with the very people who we would want to view the film, i.e YOU!
Yes, that means we would like to make this film with you! This isn’t a cheap way of finding a bunch of extras; we are actually going to mould the film around your input. Why? Because you are gifted and talented and intuitive and by coming together your gifts and talents are recognized, your questions are answered, your reflections are heard and together we can shift consciousness and towards understanding that we are all diffrent, but all one. You might not think you have anything to give, but everyone has something to give to this project.
Here are a few ideas of things you might like to do.
- Film yourself —using a webcam, phone or camcorder we don’t care what you use, just film yourself sharing your thoughts, your answers, your questions and reflections. To give you inspiration at the end of this mail we will give you some ideas of what to share..
- Shy about showing your face? Just record yourself and send us an mp3 file.
- Poets, slam poets, beat boxers, rappers do your stuff! Send us your inspired poetry or film with you in action.
- Calling all Musicians and composers, do you have something to share?
- Calling artists and photographers use the questions below for inspiration
- Calling dancers and movement artists
- Calling friends to make manifestation boards and send us a photo

What questions do you have that you seek answers for?
What is your guiding philosophy in life, how do you stay happy and healthy? We want your real expression of your emotions, thoughts and ideas. Take the opportunity to vent out your frustration or to connect with your hope. Be as creative as you can. If that involves singing at the top of your lungs whilst dancing in your bedroom do it! If you just want to be simple and talk to the camera that’s cool too. Sleep on it and see what you dream and then share your dream.
This is an international project. If you would like to speak in a language other than English please do, just send us a write up of what you said so we can subtitle it in English.
This is a spiritual film but not like one you will have seen before, you don’t get bogged down by wondering what ‘we’ want you to offer. You give us what YOU want.

However you would like to be part of making a film, do it. We will blog, update you via e-mail every stage of the film process so you know what is happening as it happens. We are an independent film maker, and now so are you.
About the production team
Marlo McKenzie is a writer and filmmaker originally from the Detroit area. She has studied language in France, worked in theater in Germany, was a founding producer of a video production company in Australia that trains homeless youth, and now resides in San Francisco, California where she works in documentary film and as a producer at bad leg emu. Marlo has directed numerous films for corporations and non-profits both in Australia and the US. Her creative work has been projected onto Coit Tower in San Francisco, exhibited and screened in Australia and as well as the US. Marlo holds a M.F.A from the College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Australia and a B.A. in telecommunications and digital media arts from Michigan State University. She believes in leveraging the power of media to create a shift in thought and action that will positively transform the world.
Becky Walsh is one of the U.K.’s leading thinkers on intuition and spirituality. She is a well-recognized author, magazine feature writer, speaker, hosted her own radio show on LBC 97.3, and has a practice in London where her consultations are a blend of intuitive psychotherapy, psychology inspiration, and life coaching. She has made two short films with Marlo McKenzie and has a back ground in theatre production and stage management. Her reason for making ‘Knowing Humans’ is to give an alternative prospective on spiritual film making and take an in-depth look at what it is to be human at what she feels is a crux point in human evolution.
