"Your task is not to seek love, but merely to find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." A Course in Miracles

Biography

Becky Walsh - BiographyLike most of us, I am concerned about multiple world issues. From time to time it can feel overwhelmed and make us feel even guilty for being human.

This has brought myself and many others to be a seeker of change through spirituality. It can be a frustrating journey, involving being on and off the band wagon of the ego. Right now many people are starting to become switched on to the idea of a different way of living.

I have whole heartily embraced: positive thinking, meditation, being good towards others, self development, living in the moment and taking responsibility for  my own issues. I have studied many of the world religions, spiritual thinkers, science, philosophy, psychology. That’s a lot, but I love it!

In my work I was best known for being a psychic medium. I had my own radio show on LBC 97.3 in London called The Psychic Show with my co host Chris Hawkins. The show for its time was revolutionary. Blending ideas of spirituality, intuition, consciousness along with ghost infestations and mediumship. I am proud to say it became a bit of a cult with 97,000 listeners.

However I became increasingly frustrated with the term psychic medium. My work is about giving empowerment through knowledge and insight to my clients. The word psychic is associated with a more passive kind of consultation, where the client gets ‘told’ information. Often its information the clients already knows and future predictions. My consultations move perspectives and create change: it is far from passive. I am a therapist rather than someone who enjoys impressing the client with fairground insight.

My main reasons for dropping the word psychic is to distance myself from some of the harmful ways practitioners of ‘psychic readings’ can hurt clients. For example, the brain becomes filled with ‘happy’ endorphins when you are told something good is going to happen, (more endorphins than when the good thing actually happens), which can cause addiction. You can’t predict the future with accuracy, you are actually manifesting for the client. There are many people who come under the name psychic who peddle in fear, they tell the client bad things will happen, (you have been cursed etc) to extract more money. I don’t want to be associated with that kind of work or people.

There are some wonderful psychics out there, but for me the parameter that that word ‘psychic’ created meant my work would be limited. My work simply out grew it.

As a medium I believe we must always question what mediumship is. Consciousness is more complex than a dead person being able to communicate to a medium. Most mediums are developed through the religion of spiritualism, which is the only religion which tries to prove its beliefs. Therefore, the teaching of a mediumship demonstration is to bring forth ‘proof of life’ rather than as a therapeutic practice. For me, mediumship didn’t seem to interface directly, or enough, with healing. I am currently working on a project that I believe will change that. It would be safe to say I am a sceptical medium; on behalf of spirit not the living.

I have been told many times by powerful, knowlegeable people, that if I change my work from what I am popularly known for, I will lose my clients. But, I make no apologies for doing just that! I simply can’t stop myself, if you learn to play a whole drum kit why would you just stick to a tambourine? Right now the world needs as many drums as it can get.

I know we need a shift in consciousness to change the way we are literally destroying ourselves. My work is about bring forward that small and big shifts in the individual and community.

I believe there are two sides of us, one is the ego and one is an aware consciousness. I know that we can journey into who we are as individuals and change our own consciousness. Yet to live in the world is to be triggered back into the ego self by others who have only developed as far as the ego. We just can’t help it, it happens. It’s a cycle of the ego voice telling ourselves off for being in the ego, and again we are back in the consciousness we don’t want to be making our life choices from.

In all of my studies one thing has been lacking for me. Which is how does self development interface with bringing peace, love and saving ourselves and the planet. The shift of consciousness has to be about love. Even if we are all one being dreaming this reality as we hear in the ideas of ‘non duality’ thinkers. Even then the aim of being ‘at one’ is to bring love. End war, end corruption, end greed and end all the ego based thinking that causes everything that isn’t in alignment with love. Yes you can do that through self development however that simply isn’t sustainable with support of community. We can’t change the world without coming together in love.

It feels so simple to say we need to come together in love. Yet the ego makes us feel separate from each other and that makes us feel fear. In my work with clients I have been struck by the fact that we are all the same at one level of consciousness. I have found that by using intuition to see people beyond the ego I have felt healed. Everyone reflects back to me who I am, we all do that for each other. We can see an intuitive ego reflection of ourselves which makes us judge others. Or we can use intuition to see this deeper level of humanity at a collective consciousness level. When we can read both parts of a person, we no longer fear, which means we know how to step into a loving connection and community.

Intuition is the missing interface towards love and community. It links all of the spiritual disciplines of self development and allows us to take the next step of taking that out into the world of other people. We then feel safe to know others intentions, we can see deeply into the root of where they are coming from. We can then choose to react in a way that will allow opening and shift or… not. We also hear what people have been sent to teach us quicker than we would in meditation and reflection.

Community is the missing interface that creates change in our world leaders. Make no mistake when people join together world leaders do listen. I have personally witnessed how people joining together make things happen. Doing things on your own is better than nothing, but joining together is the only form of sustainable change.

Intuition is the missing interface between us and the planet. Intuitive knowing on multiple levels, not just with your mind but your whole body opens you up to be in connection to all that there is. You experience your body, animals, plants and the earth itself with a new level of awareness. Getting to a point where you can truly know all there is to know at your possible level of understanding.

I realised that everything in creation interfaces with everything else. Every cycle of life, everything that is, moves into something else. In order to understand what is being created in the future, we must first understand the energy of that creation. In a very uncomplicated view point I believe that the universe started in love. From that point a duality came, you might call that light and dark. In all of us we battle the forces of light and dark in the form of love and ego. Every action, every thought, every feeling will come from one place or the other. We then need to question ‘where am I coming from’. In fact it is the biggest question you can ever ask yourself. Sometimes you can’t see it. Which is where my work comes in. I bring insight into where you are coming from. Which in turn tells you where the, thought, action or emotion started, sometimes right the way back into childhood. So you can choice to see if it still applies. This means we can unblock holding points which free up the future to be more loving and empowering through the transformative power and freedom love over ego brings.

I am passionate about teaching and sharing with you a way to open intuition that leads to collective consciousness, deep understanding, sharing and world change.

In my own personal life experience I have lived in England, Hong Kong (a short time), Australia and America. I have worked on cruise ships, travelled the world. I once worked as a stage manger and theatre lighting tech in the Westend and on tour. In my new career passion I have given consultations, talks, taught, presented a radio show on LBC 97.3 (and on line), created films, written books, articles and stand up comedy. I consider myself to be a multimedia artist under one umbrella of shifting from ego (fear) and into an awakened consciousness (love). I have a degree in interdisciplinary studies from the California institute of integral studies.

My quest to live without fear has lead me to an extraordinary life which I can whole heartily say I love, even the bits that feel bad and scary sometimes.
